How Soon Is Now is a series of photographs taken in Annecy, France. The photographs are made using the mordançage process. It is a 19th century method which dramatically alters black and white photographs.  Through this process, the prints are manipulated and areas are lifted. This alchemy helps give a mystic quality to the photographs and withholds information from the viewers. The work becomes abstract and must be inspected in order to make out what is in the photographs. Viewers are drawn into a contemplative realm where they are prompted to construct their own story.

The experimentation creates new images that serve as a metaphor for corrupted memories. Physical intervention is an effective way to communicate presence and absence and here, morcançage is a way to draw attention to, and detract from difficult truths.
